The blue cornflowers (Centaurea cyanus) grow in cultivation in Germany. After the blooming of the cornflower blossoms, the whole plant is harvested and dried. The drying of the whole plant preserves the bright blue color of the cornflower blossoms. After drying, the stem is removed and only the beautiful buds of the cornflower blossoms remain.
We then pack these beautiful cornflower buds in our resealable doypacks at 1.05oz/30g each, label them and ship them right to your doorstep the buds are 100% pure, natural and receive no additional treatment after harvest.
Cornflower blossoms are used in natural herbal teas or in ointments. For a cornflower tea, 1-2 teaspoons of cornflower buds are poured with 8.5 fl oz / 250ml of hot water and allowed to steep for 10 minutes. The cornflower blossom tea has a floral-earthy taste.
The cornflower blossoms are free from harmful substances.
